Movie Details
Synopsis The first annual Duke Kahanamoku Invitational Championship was planned to be a single day event between Dec 14th and 17th on any one of five beaches on the North Shore. On December 15th, 1965 the surf at Sunset Beach was perfect 10 to 12 foot. Twenty-four of the world's best surfers were invited to compete. The film coverage was headed up by Bruce Brown and included Greg MacGillivray, Jim Freeman, Spyder Wills, Greg Weaver and Val Valentine. Interviews include: Miki Dora, Jeff Hakman, Felipe Pomar, and the Duke.
